A Short Summary:
So
you want the whole picture in a nutshell! Well here are the main reasons why
we feel you should advance straight to the Reservations Page:
Great
Locations:
Les Arc is one of the great
french domains, The official Les Arcs web site has loads of information and
a Les Arc web cam view, so you can see what the snow is doing in Les Arc at
the minute.
Chez Jay offers really beautiful catered chalets (as well as self catered apartments/chalets for which there is a special page) in two locations;
Montchavin, one of 11 beautiful villages that make up the vast high altitude ski domain of La Plagne in the French Alps, and
Le Pre de Villaroger, one of the unspoilt gems of the huge Les Arcs domain. Our catered chalet in Villaroger is at the foot of the worlds longest piste descent starting high above Arc 2000.
But that's not all. Daily
transport between the neighbouring resorts of Les Arcs and La Plagne will allow
you to ski two domains in one holiday should you wish. That means nearly 200
lifts, more than 400 kms of piste and some 500 square kms of ski-able domain;
enough for every type of skiing from total beginners to wild off-piste enthusiasts.
The vast domains of Les Arcs and La Plagne will soon be linked into one super
domain that will rival any as the greatest ski area in the world. If you want
the best skiing available, our resorts can deliver it.
Great
Chalets:
Besides
having spectacular views and real log fires, all our chalets are spacious individual
buildings: beautiful, comfortable, well equipped and virtually on the piste.
Every room has both central and individual heating, there's a proper boot room
where all your equipment may be safely left to dry and our lounge and dining
facilities are spacious enough to fit everyone in comfort. They are not apartments
masquerading as chalets and neither do they overlook ugly car parks or noisy
roads. All our chalets are genuine homes where you will feel as much at home
as you do in your own.
Great
Hospitality:
We
don't employ people to look after you; we do it ourselves! And neither are we
inexperienced enthusiasts simply there to ski for the season. Everyone caring
for you will have been trained at a famous 4 star Country House Hotel to ensure
the very best standards of catering and service appropriate to the homely environment
of a catered ski chalet. We even provide a team of two or theree to look after
your needs. A fully skilled host, supported by a qualified chef and a young
general assistant will guarantee you a very well run chalet indeed.
Professional
Catering:
We
don't just feed you - we have glowing candlelit dinner parties six evenings
a week where guests and hosts make friendships that may be renewed every year.
Our 4 star experienced chefs will prepare not only local Savoyarde specialities
but a whole range of dishes from many cuisines including Haute French, Classic
Italian, Traditional German and even Exotic Asian. Chez Jay is therefore as
much a culinary experience as it is a winter sports venue. Needless to say such
things as unlimited wine, wholesome breakfasts with meats and cheeses, fresh
coffee and after dinner luxuries are all provided as standard.
Ski
ability:
Each
person caring for you will be a well experienced skier to an advanced recreational
level at the very least. Many compete in local events and one is even an Olympic
team member. They are as knowledgeable of the Les Arc mountains as anyone. When
the slopes are busy they know where to avoid the queues, they are also on good
terms with the cheif Pisteur at Villaroger. They know where the best snow conditions
are each day and where the most suitable runs are for each standard of skiing.
And most of all, they know how to get the most out of a day on the mountain.
For your hosts, skiing is not simply a thrill to be gained through flying down
the pistes at the highest speeds. They love the mountains themselves; the forests
and the wildlife, the remote stone lodges and the sheer blissful silence of
nature in mid winter. They love the 'art' of skiing and wish to share it with
you.
Last year's
guests said:
"A great week during which we wined, dined and skied to exceptional levels of satisfaction"
"Chez Jay comes highly recommended as actually providing everything as stated in their brochure, you won't be dissappointed!"
Extra
services:
You
name it and we can do it. From organising your lift passes and equipment to
looking after you on the slopes. If you want a hot water bottle or an extra
bite to eat - it's there for the asking. And we offer those little extras that
make a catered chalet holiday really special; tea or fresh fruit juice with
your morning call, a welcome tray with fruit and goodies in your room and fluffy
bath towels. You're staying in our home and we do everything we can to make
you feel at home.
Affordable
Prices:
Yep,
you can find cheaper chalet holidays in the French Alps with Inghams or Thompsons
- but we really don't recommend them if you want that special homely atmosphere
that only a privately run chalet can offer. And amongst the specialised companies
in our field we feel our prices represent the best value for money around. A
week in Chez Jay peak season is up to 30% cheaper than our rivals 'Ski Beat'
in the same resort.
